Cartridge filters serve as a filter surface in the dedusting system to separate gas and dust. The filter area of the ts-systemfilter star filters can be individually configured by varying the number of pleats or the length of the filter elements. Different filter media are available (e.g. cleanable and dissipative HEPA filter media of filter class H13). With ts-systemfilter, the filter surface of the filter elements can be disposed of separately by means of a separate support body, so that the support tube can be reused - a significant contribution to the issue of sustainability.
Filter elements are filter inserts in a filter apparatus to separate solid substances from gaseus substances. You can use, e.g. star filter, filter bags, multifunction star filter, metal filter or activated carbon filter with different filter media.
This experiment describes the most important property of the filter medium, namely the behaviour under operating conditions. Mainly this experiment decides on the application possibilities of a filter medium. In this test, the test specimen is dusted evenly with a dusting device (solid particle generator) from an upstream side specified by the manufacturer. The differential pressure between inflow chamber (raw gas side) and after the filter (clean gas side) is measured. This differential pressure increases with increasing clogging of the filter medium. When a dedusting point previously set on the control (pmax) is reached, the test specimen is cleaned from the clean gas side by an abrupt pressure increase (2 bar). Now, the differential pressure falls back to a value slightly above the initial differential pressure, since the filter medium has not been completely cleaned. This process is repeated until the dust-filled cylinder of the dusting device is emptied, or after a dedusting process, a certain differential pressure (pmin) is no longer undershot. If the latter is the case, there would be many short successive dedustings due the very rapidly increasing differential pressure. However, this is detected by the controller and the dedustings then follow one another with a pause time set on the controller. The tests (differential pressure curves) are recorded by a data logger and a recorder connected to the controller.

In case of a dust explosion the pressure relief system reduces the explosive pressure. An extension of the filter housing above the pressure relief system makes it possible to divert the compression wave to the outside, so that the hazardous area still can be used.
